    Posted Mon April 19, 2021 11:05 AM

    Dear Team,

We are following below approach please confirm us below approach is correct or wrong.

    Steps :

    1) We takes the FileNet whole database back and restore the same in New data center database.

    2) Copy the FileNet staging area to new Data center FileNet Servers

    3) ECS storage team migrate the archive data to New ECS storage nodes

    4) We install the Fresh FileNet Setup to new FileNet data center servers.

    5) Copy the production ear file to new FileNet Server then copy the ear file to FileNet profile path.

    6) Create the data sources which is there in production same data sources we create on new data center on FileNet Servers.

    7) deploy the ear file which we copied from production server to New data center Server.

    8) we deploy the file using modify existing option.

    9) login to ace then change the ECS nodes in New data center.

( please advise us above step will work or not )

    Regards

    Sadath

Given your current software levels, the procedure you describe should be fine.

I would not copy the ear, but reconfigure and redeploy anew from the FileNet configuration manager

    Kind regards,

    /Gerold

Given that the customer is on 5.5.0, they will need to bootstrap their new CE ear file from the old one.

You HAVE to create a new one. The old format used to embed a bootstrap user and its password. As this was a maintenance headache this was changed and there is an additional deployment step you have to take.

Gerold -- the change you mention was introduced in CPE 5.5.2. Sadath mentioned he is on 5.5.0, so he still needs to go through the bootstrap process. And this would be true even if the data center move also included an upgrade to CPE 5.5.2 or later.

You are correct. But it is a tempting opportunity to combine this with an upgrade :-).

Depending on how documents are 'transfered' a rollback might be easy as oposed to an inplace upgrade...

You question is not clear. Are you trying to configure Elastic Cloud Storage as a fixed content device? If so, follow the instructions for configuring a Centera device: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/filenet-p8-platform/5.5.x?topic=files-installing-updating-emc-centera-sdk-library. And then refer to this section for the rest of the instructions: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/filenet-p8-platform/5.5.x?topic=types-fixed-storage-areas

If you are trying to configure ECS as an advanced storage device, refer to this topic: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/filenet-p8-platform/5.5.x?topic=types-advanced-storage-areas

    Dear Team,

Appreciate your support on below i did the FileNet Setup in new data center it is working fine but when i change to ECS centera hostname to new data center hostname i am not able to save the setting it shows below error.

The [initialize] operation on the fixed content

    provider [com.filenet.engine.content.fcprovider.centera.CenteraFCP(0)] failed.

Message was: FPLibrary (Not found in java.library.path)

please advise me how can i fix this issue.

i follow below steps to configure centera in new data center

    1) run is install script from the installation media

    2) change the lib path from 32 to 64 bit

3)i don' know where i have to define modify library script into setupCmdlLine.sh script ( i copy the text and paste into linux parameter section in that scripts ) i am not sure it is correct or not

    4) change the hostname from the acce and put there new data center hostname after doing the i am not able to save the setting getting above error.

    Regards

Have you checked the PEA file to ensure that it has the correct hostname?
