We have decided to use WC7 FEP5 for a new project. I am trying to use WC integrated search and have following questions in mind. Can someone help me with these or point me to right documents/urls. Thanks in advance.

Brief intro to AfB environment and how Solr is used.

 

What feeds are required/possible to provide data?

Can they be updated in real time?

 

What properties files are used, which can be updated by users and which should be restricted to dev?

Can they be updated in real time?

 

How are extended sites handled - different products, properties etc.

Can you have different rules per extended site on the same master catalogue?

 

Are there redirects and what rules are they based on?

 

Is there a concept of Product/SKU?

Are there associations?

 

Can a category have attributes and be searched for?

Can content/text be searched for?

In WC7 I heard IBM use Apache Tika to search unstructured content - would be interested in what that can do.

 

How do you determine which attributes filter at which browse level?

Can the same product have different attributes at the same level in different sites?

Is there the concept of attribute range, e.g. price £0-200, and can this be used for any attribute.

 

Can hero products be surfaced based on rules, e.g. majority of results in a category?

What other rules can be used?
