I am trying to find information on upgrading from WAS V 8.0 Base to WAS V 8.5.5 but the information is confusing.


What I think I got from the reading (high level) is this:

I would need to install WAS 8.5.5 into another directory on the same machine and get that up and running.   Then I would run the migration tools and migrate the WAS 8.0.0 profiles and applications to the new WAS 8.5.5 installation.   Once this is complete tested and so forth I could then uninstall WAS 8.0.0.


Just wanted to confirm if I was on the correct track or if there was indeed an inplace upgrade option where I could just install 8.5.5 over the top of 8.0.0 but I did not see anything like that in my reading.

Hi Greg,

  You are right, there is no choice to install 8.5.5 over the top of 8.0.0.
 
  Only take in mind that if you install in the same machine you can have port collisions in the first stages of the migration, when you have finished the migration no.

Yes true.. migration is the only way between different versions... 8.0 is not a base version of 8.5 or 8.5.5.. all are different base.
