  • 1.  Warning #3211

    Posted Fri January 15, 2021 12:56 PM

I got the updated version of SPSS Statistics 27.0.1.0 and using the same database, as I did in the past with SPSS 26, it keeps giving me this warning:

    "Warning # 3211

On at least one case, the value of the weight variable was zero, negative, or

missing. Such cases are invisible to statistical procedures and graphs which

need positively weighted cases, but remain on the file and are processed by

non-statistical facilities such as LIST and SAVE."

The problem is, I am not using a weight variable, but a categorical variable in which there is a value attributed to the zero. This has never been a problem, and it is not in other variables in the same database. So I just don't understand what is the issue, and I cannot run my analysis at all..

I also checked the variables properties and everything is ok..

Can anyone help me or had the same issue?

Thank you a lot in advance!

    All the Best,

    Armanda

Run SHOW WEIGHT to confirm that weighting is not in effect. Having a case weight is the only way I know that this warning could occur. You say you are using a categorical variable, but as what? If it is set as the weight, run FREQUENCIES with the weight off to see if any missing values are reported.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply.

I ran Frequencies with the weight of the variable off and it worked. All my data was reported, no missing values! :D
