    What's the consensus, or what experiences have people had, on making VIO servers NIM clients? I've stayed away from it for a variety of reasons (the AIX version oslevel gives under oem_setup_env is higher than the TL used by the NIM server, fear that a later VIO server upgrade would remove this ability, and my strong impression that IBM would like to make the VIO server more like the HMC than the oddball AIX box it is). However, it would be nice.

    You are correct, it forced me to update my NIM servers, lppsrc and spots, to work around the issue, I created a new spot with the required level for our current infrastructure, while it was a little bit of a pain at the beginning, now it is the same as maintaining another OS level on the current infrastructure.
