Hi Team, Is there any way to perform a performance test for a Verify Access (ISAM 9) production environment? Thanks in advance.

    Hi David,

There are tons of ways to do performance/load tests, depending on what exactly you want to focus on and what language/tools you are proficient in.

We implement such tests by creating load test scenarios in Gatling (Gatling - Professional Load Testing Tool) and then running them periodically, to be able to compare results evolution.

Those tests are application focused, meaning that they target the applications running behind ISAM (and not directly ISAM), but they allow us to test ISAM performance in scenarios very close to the reality.
The web applications load-tested are the ones involving as much OAuth/OIDC/SAML/STS calls as possible to be sure to create heavy work for the ISAM appliances.

    Regards

    Hi David,

Using Dynatrace you can continuously monitor the performance in a production environment. You are able to backtrace real world requests and analyse which part of ISAM is slowing it down, for example calls to your config or hvdb database. You can even go as far as seeing which queries are the slowest.

While it isn't a performance test, it can give some good insights when paired with a load test such as suggested by André.
