Hi,

When I try to send the below 850 document to GXS VAN, the VAN.ftp:put command is taking more than 6 minutes and then it is coming out without any returncode. It is not throwing any exception also.

I have just validated this EDI document using wm.b2b.edi:convertToValues and it was successful. Please have a look at it and let me know if you find any specific problem on this EDI data.

Sorry. I forgot to mention one thing. If I try to post any other EDI documents, they are going through fine. ONLY this specific EDI document is causing problem.

I assume you masked out some of the data, particularly in the ISA. You probably should have masked out more of the data but…

If you didn’t mask out the data and what is posted here is what you’re sending to GXS it might be caused by the sender/receiver identifiers. Or perhaps by the ‘T’ test indicator. It might be best to work with GXS on this one.

You are correct. I have intentionally masked the ISA/GSA segments. But I am sure there is no problem with the original SENDER/RECEIVER identifiers. Still, if there is any problem, the file should reach VAN and it should be failed/rejected there. But in my case the file is not reaching VAN.

Also be informed that I have successfully posted the same 850 message to VAN using another FTP tool and it reached the vendor.

Can you post your IS & TN version and patch levels? I’m wondering if it might be caused by FTP session reuse. As you may know, IS reuses FTP sessions by default. This can cause an error depending on the FTP session state.
