    I have a client that is attempting to create a mksysb backup to DVD, using mkdvd.  I have been able to trace the problem to the readcd command:

    /usr/bin/readcd -w dev=1,0 f=/mkcd/cd_images/cd_image_21037506

    Capacity: 2236704 Blocks = 4473408 kBytes = 4368 MBytes = 4580 prMB
    Sectorsize: 2048 Bytes

    Copy from file '/mkcd/cd_images/cd_image_21037506' to SCSI (0,1,0) disk

    /usr/bin/readcd: Invalid argument. Cannot send SCSI cmd via ioctl

     

    At first, I thought this might be a problem with the DVD-RAM media, but the problem persists after replacing the media.

     

    Can you offer any assistance with this issue?

    Please  open a PMR for this issue.

    Since readcd is part of AIX base lpp package it will be handled via the AIX support.
