you're correct of course that a private object should take precedence for a subnm, I suggest initiating a support case.
in the meantime, can you list the software version mix in use and the connection mode in PA for Excel?

Where a user has a Private set named the same as the Public set, there seems to be no way to get the formula to reference the Private set.
Any results returned from the SubNM always relate to the Public set.
In Perspectives, SubNM appears to return values from the Private set first and is the expected behaviour in PAfE
TM1SubsetToSet by default looks for a Private set first then Public, unless you specified which to use in the MDX.
Is there any way to specify Private/Public or are SubNMs limited to Public sets only?
