  • 1.  Using Prompt Text in a prompt value

    Hi,

    I'm using Cognos Analytics v12.1.0.

    I try to use Header Text and/or Choices Text using the following value:

    Nothing is displayed when I run the report in my prompt page.

    If I change the Run with full interactivity to disable it, I have the following:


    In Header Text, I can read the following explanation:

    Specifies the title that appears above the list of choices in a value prompt. The default title text is the name of the level above the data items that are listed as choices; for example, Regions.


    For Choices Text, I have the following explanation:

    Specifies the title that appears above the choices box when multiple selections are enabled. This property applies to the following prompt types: value, text box, date, date & time, time, interval, and search & select. The default title text is Choices.

    Did I miss something obvious?

    Hi Patrick,

    I have no 12.1.0 system here to verify but in 12.0.4 it works with and w/o full interactivity enabled:

    What's not working is the "choices text" setting. Even when I change the filter to "in" and set the prompt to multi-select, the text does not appear (as stated in the infotext).

    Choices Text appears when you have prompts that have a left side and right side, such as the search and text multi select boxes. Here is an example of the text box used as multi-select. I have changed the Choices text to the Bespoke text seen here.



    I can't think of an instance of when a value multi select prompt invoke a prompt with a left and right side type of prompt so can't think of when the Choices property would actually be invoked.
