I am working on a project at the moment where there are discussions around migrating LPARS between frames by replicating rootvg and presenting the replicated LUN to the new frame.

In my experience I have always migrated rootvg by executing a mksysb but apparently they have tested the above method and suggest that it ok.

does anyone have any input on this method or pitfalls, its worth noting that all systems are at the latest fixpack levels for the relevant OS

    thanks
