    Hi all

can you please advise me on a user group security? I have created a new group, add a user, set permisions for cubes and dimensions, set capabilities but I still get an error when a user opens a cube:

"Unable to fetch data. SELECT: User does not have read access (rte34)"

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks for any help.

Did you try opening the view in Architect and does it open? Ensure you've given access to all dimensions of the cube (incase the }DimensionSecurity cube exists).

Assuming you've added the user to the group, check if the element security exists for any of the associated dimensions and if so update that as well.

    Regards,

    Hi Peter,

For TM1 database security the user needs to belong at least one group with the following access to see (READ) a view.

    - READ on the cube
    - READ on each dimension used in the cube
    - For each dimension used in the cube with an }ElementSecurity cube, READ access on the elements used in the view.  If a dimension doesn't have an }ElementSecurity cube then element security is not applied

Cell security won't block you from seeing a view, but it can cause you to not see values in cells (you can see the cell but not the value).

Let me know if this explanation helps.

    Hi Stuart

thank for you explanation, the problem was in dimension in the cube with an }ElementSecurity cube.
