Hello everyone! I´d like to see what the community users think in regards to the differences of usage between Python and R. I´m particularly interested in the applications they are given in advanced industry and research work groups.

Python is a general-purpose programming language, it's syntax and learning curve is easy for a person with computer science background but with R it's style is more unconventional and it's easy to learn to non-programmers.

It's more of a choice, actually, select what suits best your approach.

In my opinion, Python is better because being a general-purpose, it will easy for cross-platforms, for example, The model to developed in Python can be deployed on python based web framework and vice versa, making it really a 360 language, with web frameworks like Django and Flask as a bonus.

Yes, Python is one of the most versatile and readable languages. So you're saying that R has a more 'user-friendly' synthax than Python?

I wouldn't say just user friendly but user friendly to specific groups like statisticians, mathematicians and people from other fields, because, in the same way, it will not be user-friendly for a programmer or with a tech background.

IMO, Python is much easier to learn than R.  The language is very regular with very few dark corners while R, although it is powerful, has many odd behaviors and dark corners.
