  • 1.  Uploading a file on AMOS

    Posted Wed August 26, 2020 07:54 PM

I am using remotely the university SPSS 25 AMOS. When I try to upload a SPSS data file on AMOS, I get a message that part of the path to my file placed on my PC Desktop is not readable. I believe I am following the idea of the AMOS Manual. When I click the SPSS icon, I do not have such issue. Is it possible the AMOS part to not be connected to SPSS package?

Could you give me some idea what I need do?

    Thank you.

    Hi

The behavior you are describing is commonplace for the "Analyze -> Amos Graphics" menu item within IBM SPSS Statistics. In later versions, that menu item has been removed.

IBM SPSS Amos is a completely independent program from IBM SPSS Statistics, not a subset of it. It can be launched independently of SPSS Statistics. It can read SPSS Statistics system files (*.sav). What it cannot do do is access the SPSS Statistics working file and then pass that working data back and forth.

Please treat Amos as its own standalone product. Associate SPSS Statistics system files with your path diagram file within Amos, as you would the other file formats Amos reads.

    I hope this helps!
