I'm used to see the occasional upload error but I seem to have encountered a new one!

Does anyone know what this one means?

I have noticed this since moving to 12.5. In most cases even after this error appears the file does in fact upload successfully.

Yeah I have noticed the same thing. Although this error doesn't seem to matter on getting data files loaded would be good to find out what the error message actually means - I'm keeping a log of them

I'm on the same page here. It doesn't occur on every upload but it would be good know what it is.

If it's nothing to worry about and the upload is still working, please - don't show the error message. Gives you a hick-up every time :-)

I'm at the TBM Conference and stopped by the Apptio Support station. I repro'd the problem to the Apptians, too!

The error notices can safely be regarded as a warning rather than a genuine error. Data is still loaded. And, check-ins can be achieved without issue.

@Chris Rhoades, @Sean Ingalls, or @Mark Nealey can provide some additional insight and context on this topic.

The folks mentioned likely know better than I but I was under the impression that error is related to the upload failing validation in some way.  It seems to be more of a warning then an error in reality.  Can any of you confirm that there are any validation warnings at the import step when you see this warning?

    It's related to validation.

In the repro I did, it was due to a change in data type in the previous version of source data loaded versus the new version of source data.

Hopefully, improvements are made to the validation handling so I don't become insensitive to the error notices and ultimately miss on a legitimate one. ;-)

there are no validation errors appearing in the import phase.

No there isn't anything else coming apart from this error message

The error itself will not indicate a validation error, but an error flag is thrown "behind the scenes" causing a generic "Upload Error" to appear.

My recommendation...look for a piece of changed data in the CT table. If the data is there, the upload was a success and you can safely ignore the error. Otherwise, it's a legitimate upload error caused by something else.

I am also seeing this error message when loading larger file sizes. Sometimes i am not able to view the file until a couple of hours later. Most annoying as i have raised support tickets in the interim and Apptio are unable to determine the reason when looking at the logs....

I have the same error. When will it be fixed? @Chris Rhoades @Sean Ingalls @Mark Nealey

I first had the error after changing the upload cycle from Ad-Hoc to Monthly Versions Update Every Month. Data seems to be uploaded correct. Error is gone after check-in.

Now I have it in another case and can't solve it. The data is not there. I just want to override and upload. The upload cycle is ad-hoc and I have not changed it.
