  • 1.  Upgrading ILMT to 9.2.33 with MS SQL 2012.

    Hi,  I am aware that MS SQL 2012 is no longer supported starting ILMT 9.2.33.   However,  will I still able to manually execute the ILMT 9.2.33 upgrade (not using the provided upgrade fixlet from BigFix Console) using MS SQL 2012?   Or  it will fail after detecting the unsupported MS SQL 2012 during the upgrade process?     Or the update schema process will fail eventually?

    There is a plan to migrate this ILMT server running SQL 2012 to a newly built server and this process can take times to complete.   In the meantime, I need to upgrade ILMT to 9.2.33 to address those vulnerability issues.   Any suggestions?

    Hi York,

    You should be able to manually execute the ILMT 9.2.33 upgrade.
    There is no additional detection during the upgrade process.
    You will just get a warning on 'To Do list'...

    However, there is one more somewhat hidden aspect: TLS
    I'm not sure which ILMT you are upgrading from but all connections from 9.2.33 (JDBC driver included) are forced to be TLSv1.2.
    MS SQL 2012 is pretty old so not sure about its TLS version setup...

    I forgot to add a warning:
    such upgrade process will not be supported by us, so, in case of any upgrade related or subsequent ILMT processing issues you will not be able to lodge any claims.
    The obvious reason behind it is that ILMT 9.2.33 hasn't been tested with MS SQL Server 2012.
