    Thank you for any pointers.

    1. What is the business need for the AIX P6 upgrade?
    2. Is it driven by the requirements in terms of Performance and Scalability?
    3. How new features in P6 such as NPIV, advanced POWERVM, AMS can benefit the business?
There has to be some value add in upgrading your server apart from the pride factor to say "Hey all our servers are running latest hardware".

    3) Thank you for pointing out the new features. I will read up on them.

And you are also right in your closing remark - though I think it applies to software as well. I'd love to upgrade to learn to new stuff but then, perhaps, my HW config would not be enough and we, being a charity, cannot spend money just so the techie (me) has a sandbox :)
