Hello,
Upgrading from something so old is not necessarily easy, you have to combine two constraints:
- the upgrade paths available at the MQ level
- the OS versions supported by the different IBM MQ versions
In any case, it will be necessary to go through intermediate stages.
According to the IBM documentation, it is possible to upgrade from MQ 7.0.1 to MQ 9.0, then from MQ 9.0 to MQ 9.3.
After that, you have to see if the current OS that supports MQ 7.0.1.9 supports MQ 9.0. You may have to upgrade to MQ 8.0 first, then upgrade the OS, then upgrade from MQ 8.0 to MQ 9.1, update the OS again, and finish by upgrading to version 9.3.
It may be best to rebuild the Queue Manager directly on a newer OS and MQ, if possible.
If the Queue Manager is part of an MQ cluster, this is still possible, but it is significantly more complex.
