    FYI - AIX 5.3 goes out of standard support at the end of April.

    When you are saying "straight to TL12", you mean the TL12-00 or TL12-05 ? As far as I can see TL12-00 is a prerequisite to install TL12-05

    I know about the EOL, but the server will be decomissioned during 2012, we'll keep our finger crossed and hope that nothing will happen after April ;-)

    So, whether you go to TL12 first or TL12SP5 you'll still need the base-level filesets from CD or through the entitlement website.
