Upgrade 10.5 to 10.11

  • 1.  Upgrade 10.5 to 10.11

    Posted Wed March 08, 2023 02:22 PM

we are upgrading from 10.5 to 10.11 side-by-side I have a question related to DB Migration?

Is your question related to the free trial, or to a production (customer) instance?

    No

What are you trying to achieve? Please describe it in detail.

I need to understand the order of steps while migrating DB from 10.5 to 10.11 (side-by-side)

    1. Request DBA new schemas for 10.11 for JDBC pools and MWS Schema
    2. execute DB configurator on 10.11 and create new tables for new schemas
    3. Install 10.11 servers on new Schemas (for IS and MWS)
    4. request DBA to import and export data from 10.5 to 10.11 and verify New server.

Can you please clarify this order is correct ? Please suggest if any activity is missing.

Do you get any error messages? Please provide a full error message screenshot and log file.

Have you installed all the latest fixes for the products and systems you are using?

    Hi Raghu,

in the first step request your DBA to clone the schemas from 10.5 to new ones for 10.11.
Then execute the DB configurator to migrate the schemas from 10.5 to 10.11
In the last step you can install and configure IS and MWS to the new schemas by selecting the “side-by-side” migration option.
After installation is completed run the migrate scripts for each instance.

You can find further informations in the webMethods Product Upgrade Guide.

    Regards,
    Holger
