Is there a command I can run to download code from within AIX from a FTP site as I would do it from the HMC wizzard ?

HMC is in a separate Vlan as the servers

    make sense?

This partition does not have the authority to update the
system firmware. Please refer to the documentation for
    your system for more information.

Yes it is and I suspect this is the issue from what I have read. The problem is that the HMC is in a different Vlan from my servers , the machine is in a remote destination and my company has stupid rules agains writing to CD and USB so it would be nice to be able to update the code VIA HMC but not always possible :)

Hence me asking for a command to update the firmware Via AIX using FTP into another server , cause I am blocked due what I suspect is the HMC.

    Make sense ?

Another interesting thing that concerns me
