  • 1.  Unbalanced CPU Usage

    I have a ISAM installation with 8 cores. I noticed that one of the cores has 100% usage and the others have a much lower %.

    Is this normal? what can cause this uneven usage of the CPU?

    Hello Joao,

    It is very strange but I have got same feeling with our appliances as well.  Unfortunately I was not able to see clearly the CPU usage for each cores divided.

    How were you able to check CPU usage per cores?

    Anyway I'm looking forward any reply from  expert regarding CPU balance mechanism / process.

    Janos, pleased you asked Joao the question. I spent some time in research. I agree with you on the issue of finding documentation that supports one’s ability to view specific information on CPU usage in cores divided. I went to the IBM and google Websites and nothing came up specific to that issue.

    First you need to enable SNMP on ISAM server.
    Then from a external Linux (or windows) server you can run a snmpget on ISAM.
    Here is the command:
    $ snmptable -M +. -m +ALL -v 2c -c public -Pu -Ci isam_server.example.com HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrProcessorTable
