  • 1.  Unable to update technical data type in a data module (in v12.0.x or v12.1.x.)

    Hi,

    I'm trying to update technical data type in a data module with no luck in v12.0.x or v12.1.x.

    I did everything from the Refresh properties IBM Cognos Analytics Version 12.0.x : Data Modules User Guide (page 79).

    I've changed from nvarchar(100) to nvarchar(102). I see the new technical data type in the Source properties pane.

    I don't see any change when I use Refresh properties in the data module.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    I would suggest that you log a defect.  This would enable a slightly faster gathering of information for the investigation of the reported problem.

    Hi Patrick, 

    As a workaround you might edit the attribut (from the properties, not from the context menu). 

    Then change anything in the editor (e.g. attach a blank space) and confirm. 

    This helped before the refresh properties existed.

    Even if not we never figured out a problem if the data type in the metadata had been wrong.

    I stumbled upon this workaround by accident yesterday. Yes, it works, but I have a fairly complex data module with over 1,000 columns - I'm looking for an out-of-the-box solution!
