    I can do shutdown, reboot etc from the HMC. I tried booting up to SMS and choosing "This console as primary" by pressing "0" but when it is started the machine up the console gets hung on the "Welcome to AIX" dialog. The machine boots up properly in the backround however.

    Anyone have any ideas on how to rectify this?

    I open a web page and point it at the HMC, i click on Systems Management, then servers. I expand a server, and tick next to it its LPAR. I then click the arrow that appears, choose Console Window and then Open Terminal Window.
