the CAS segments come in at the claim level and the service line level. the are 0:99 so you can created a functional map to loop though to capture all of them. i have taken a screen shot for you from the hipaa_X12.mtt

you might want to include the map (mms) along with these trees so we can see what you are doing.. it could be as simple solution.

I even tried mapping just the CAS segment ,which is in the functional part of the hipaa type tree,but to no avail it would still throw me an error.

i had also tried creating a second input card which calls just the cas segment.This compiled successfully but when i ran an actual file it gave me an input invalid error on the second input card.
