  • 1.  Unable to define DATAmover for EMC NAS on TSM

    Posted Sat April 22, 2017 01:00 PM

    Hi Experts,

    I am trying to define datamover for EMC NAS on TSM but failing I have 2 confusion please help me out on that. I am using below syntax just for reference.

    upd datamover nasnode type=nas hladdress=abcd.ibm.com lladdress=10000 userid=test password=test123 dataformat=CELERRADump

    Error-

    ANR2017I Administrator PREM issued command: DEFINE
     DATAMOVER nasnode type=nas hladdress=10.50.20.60
     lladdress=10000 userid=admin password=?***?
     dataformat=CELERRADump  (SESSION: 24)
    ANR4728E Server connection to file server 10.50.20.60
     failed. Please check the attributes of the file server
     specified during definition of the datamover. (SESSION:
     24)
    ANR1775I Data mover NASNODE has been defined, however a
     connection to the data mover failed. Please check the
     attributes of the file server specified in the definition

    I tried to define the HLaddress from the management ip of NAS as well as from the complete fqdn also.

    I need to know below 3 things.

    1. HLaddress is correct which i am entering.

    2. which user id and password I have to enter in the id and password column while defining datamover.

    3. after this how to schedule the backup .

    Regards

    Prem

    You should not use datamover nasnode on this type of nas. Use a regular node, With BA Client and domain including nas shares. If you run the Client on the same machine as the TSM server, you should use commmethod sharedmem (or. maybe named pipes if older Versions).

    put this line in Client dsm.opt:

    domain \\nas-filename\nas-root-sharename$

    then Schedule a normal incremental backup
