Just to cover all bases, you will also have to have the db2 client installed so you can configure the access to db2 and verify that you can access the db from outside wtx. Once that is done you can within the db int designer set the type of db adapter (i.e. DB2) and configure the data source, username and password for db access. You should then be able to dbl click on "Tables" folder in the DB Int Designer (DID) and see the tables you have access to.
If you still do not get access/list of tables you can enable trace inside the DID to see what the adapter is having problems with. If you get a list of tables you can then generate the type tree from a table listed.
