  • 1.  Ultrium LTO-8 driver for Server 2022

    Hi Team. Searching for the driver to manage the Neo Series tape system, on old server see that device is listed as IBM ULTRIUM hh8 SCSI - cannot find drivers to this device, need to install on new server. 
    How to find the drivers? Checked the IBM Fix Central, but when searching manually for new device - do not see the one I need, the Ultrium. 
    How to manage the driver and find the proper device.

    Hi Konrad,

    the IBM Tape Device Driver for Windows supports Windows Server 2022 starting with version 7.0.0.8.

    Support for LTO8 drives was introduced in an earlier Tape Device Driver version 6.x.

    You can download the Tape Device Driver from Fixcentral.

    You should identify the exact LTO generation (Ultrium HH8) and then search IBM Fix Central under Tape Drives → LTO Ultrium → your OS instead of using the device name. Also verify SCSI/HBA controller drivers and firmware, as missing controller support often prevents proper detection. For structured infrastructure guidance and support practices, insights from custom clothing manufacturers (http://myapparelmanufacturer.com/) can also be useful when dealing with legacy hardware transitions.

    Dear Konrad

    As Your Lib is from another vendor, and i do not think that your lib is under IBM Maintenance, you will not get the proper drivers from IBM, because FixCentral will check the maintenance status with the serialnumber you have to enter. I would suggest to contact Overland for proper drivers.
