    Your guess is correct. The "J" (or "J"apanese) installs are the international version of the product which allows for mapping of Kanji characters. If you're running on a Japanese Windows machine, the GUI interfaces are also displayed in Kanji. On any other platform, they are displayed in English. The same set of installs without the "J" are the non-international versions that don't support mapping of Kanji.

    DataStage TX, DataStage TX Extended Edition, Design Studio, Desktop and Development Kit installs all have specific Japanese versions. The other DataStage TX 7.5 installs that don't have specific Japanese versions will install with either of the noninternational or international products.
