    Beginning on May 8, 2025, IBM is set to make available IBM Turbonomic Application Resource Management (ARM) 8.16 which offers enhancements in the following areas:

    Application performance management

    • Support for new entity types within new or existing application maps, including:

      • Application component spec

      • Document collection

      • Virtual machine spec

      • .NET application support

        • Metrics from .NET applications on Instana, Datadog, Dynatrace, and New Relic targets can now be discovered and collected in Turbonomic.

    • Simplified database password configuration for Oracle targets

    • Removal of JBoss targets

    Container platform resource management

    • Target configuration wizard for container platform targets

    • Automation of scale actions for workloads managed by Knative Serving

    • Multi-instance GPU (MIG) aware horizontal scale actions for Kubernetes GenAI LLM workloads

    • New performance metric for container platform services that back AI workloads

    • Automated execution of resize up actions for container vCPU and vMem requests

    • Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization target configuration

    • Go-based operator for Prometurbo

    On-prem resource management

    • Hot add for vMEM and vCPU

    • Support for forcing minimum sizing for on-prem virtual machines

    • Resize of on-premises VMs even when they are powered off

    • Dynamic filter on VM reservation

    • Support for plans with IBM PowerVM environments

    • Grace period for delete actions

    • Removal of support for VMware Horizon targets

    Cloud resource management

    • Disruptiveness and reversibility information for cloud VM scale actions

    • Support for AWS io2 volumes attached to Relational Database Service (RDS)

    • AWS Enterprise Discount Program (EDP) support for VM actions

    • Guidelines for AWS environments with service control policies (SCPs)

    • Historically informed action generation for Azure workloads

    • Support for net throughput metrics for Azure Vms

    • Discovery of Google Cloud managed instance groups (MIGs).

    • Support for Google Cloud C3 machine series and Hyperdisk disk types

    User interface management

    • Migration of pages to the new design for the user interface

    • Onboarding page in the UI for first time users.

    Reports

    • Support for SaaS Reporting in on-prem environments

    • SaaS reporting button enabled by default

    • SaaS Reporting button enabled by default

    • New sustainability default Reporting Liveboard "Carbon Footprint - Public Cloud"

    Platform management

    • Turbonomic installation on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

    • Extractor component enabled by default

    • Backoff mechanism for failing actions

    • Firewall rules for IBM Enhanced Customer Data Repository (ECuRep) and IBM Blue Diamond

    Integrations

    • Support for IBM Apptio targets
