Does anyone have information or tips for a first go at performing TSM deduplication?

    Hi,

With the latest version of Spectrum Protect, if you create a directory or cloud container pool you will start deduplication data by default (server-side). Therefore, just create a new storage pool and migrate some test nodes to use the new pool (using a new policy domain), then check to see what data reduction rates you are getting.

If using a cloud container pool, always remember to create directory cache to sit in front of the cloud storage to absorb the ingest data.

You can using client-side dedupe in conjunction with server-side to reduce the amount of data that is transmitted over the network.

    Regards
