  • 1.  Trial version error: Internet connection?

    Hello everyone! 

    I have a problem. I'm currently using the 30 days trial version of SPSS statistics and until today everything worked perfectly. Today I wanted to continue my work but unfortunately I can't open SPSS anymore. Whenever I open it, an error message appears, that is: Internet access is required for the trial version of IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription. Connect and try again. 

    I am connected to the internet and my trial version is active until the end of July, so I'm a little lost and I really don't know how to solve this problem. 

    I'd be very grateful if anyone has a suggestion on how to solve this!

    Hi @Alice Rossi. and @Katharina Skringer

    For about 2 hours yesterday there was an issue with the IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription license server.  That problem has since been resolved.   If your instance of IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription is still not launching and still giving errors about no internet connection, it is possibly do to 'leftovers' from prior attempts during the license server outage.

    • Please reboot your computer, to exit out of any orphaned SPSS Statistics processes or sub processes, before attempting to launch once more.
    • You might also go to MyIBM and "Deactivate" your currently activated device.  Your next launch would create a new activation with that device. (Note: This has nothing to do with ending your trial.  It is simply 'cleaning up' after a failed launch.)
      • Login to MyIBM
      • Find your IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription (or Subscription Trial) tile.
      • Click the "Manage" button
      • Select "Manage devices" from the list on the left of the page
      • Deactivate the 'Active' device.
