This is one of the reasons I was a fan of using the ISO image from the
expansion pack. I could keep all the versions the same against a specific OS.
Live network downloads == inconsistency over time.
I typically prefer to create a NIM server per major OS version for
exactly this reason. I can have the RPMs from the Toolkit ISO, and all
the OS specific patches that way.
Thanks.

Subject: Toolbox repos / how are you managing updates
Dear Community,
in our team we've had a discussion about managing the toolbox repos.
For now, we have a local mirror of the IBM Toolbox repos, that is updated from time to time.
Soon we are going to upgrade the AIX environment to 7.3 TL3 and for that I did an update of the toolbox repos as well.
Newly installed systems are still running on 7.3 TL1 until we finished to update the test systems without any issues.
So, we have different versions of the toolbox RPM's on the new installed systems.
And here started the discussion: Would be better to have one local repo for each lppsource to not mix rpm versions within a lpp build level.
So, now I want to know, how are you handling your repos? Do you have multiple "freezed" repos or one repo? How do you manage to update the repo?
Many thanks in advance for your input.
Kind regards,
Joerg
