TM1Web future at the cloud environment - status

  • 1.  TM1Web future at the cloud environment - status

    Posted Tue May 06, 2025 03:25 AM

    Hello team,

can you please explain the issue with TM1Web?

What can you say about TM1Web and Cloud? We have a misunderstanding issue:

With 3.1. it won't be available, it is clear.
It means, the functionality from TM1Web will be in PAW.

But as mentioned by Michael McGeein at the last AMA, there will be a different behaviour for the Cloud environment.
The time for 2.1 was expanded till 2029, so till this time, also at the cloud environment there will be 2.1 behind?
    So what does it mean?

    Thank you in advance.

    With best regards,
    Vitalij

    Hi Vitalij,

We have no plan to remove TM1Web from either Planning Analytics on Cloud of Planning Analytics Local 2.1.  These two products will continue to include and support TM1Web.  At some point we will update Planning Analytics on Cloud to use the 2.1 version numbers for PAW and PAfE.  We will still provide TM1Web as part of Planning Analytics on Cloud after switching to 2.1 version numbers.

All Planning Analytics offerings that use TM1 v12 (Planning Analytics SaaS and the upcoming Planning Analytics Local 3.1 release) will not include TM1Web.  Websheets are still supported in PAW.  The roadmap includes enhancements to how Websheets are managed and presented in PAW.  The plan is for the PAW 3.1 deployment to support Websheets without having to separately install the Planning Analytics Spreadsheet Service.

Any end of support date for a version of Planning Analytics Local would not impact Planning Analytics on Cloud.  These are two separate products with different service agreements and support dates.

    Hello Stuart,

    thank you for your clarification!

It means, if you are using PA on Cloud, it will stay with TM1Web as it will use PA Local 2.1 and v11.
Is there any plan, to update to v12 also for PA on Cloud?

If you use PA SaaS, you are using v12 and with this, there is no separate TM1Web and many functionalities from TM1Web are already included in PAW, yes?

    With best regards,
    Vitalij

    Hello Stuart,

Are there any plans to continue to maintain/enhance TM1 Web?

I am on PA Cloud (ibmcloud) and have noticed since using PAfE to maintain and publish web sheets, the display is not as good as when using Perspectives.

(Note:  I was TM1 on prem before migrating to PA Cloud in 2019, using the Rich Tier).

Example:  when creating a web sheet in PAfE with borders and formatting we have found the borders "disappear" when viewing the web sheet on TM1 Web.  If the web sheet is exported to Excel or PDF, the borders reappear.  I opened a support ticket a few years ago and was advised to "make the border bigger".  Which is not an ideal solution.

Is there anything on the roadmap that would include maintaining/enhancing TM1 Web?

    Thank you

    Sue

    Hi Susan,

I have noticed a bug with websheets, whereby the border disappears if the column before it is hidden.

So let's say you have a border on column C, but column B is hidden, then the left-hand edge of column C is missing.
If you simply unhide Column B, or insert a blank column that isn't hidden next to Column C (now D), it should show the border.

The same goes for rows, so having a box on Row 10 but row 11 is hidden results in the bottom border to be missing.

If I'm off track, or you see different behaviour, please let me know.

    Thanks

    Hi Karl,

Thank you for the note on borders and the display in TM1 Web.

I have double checked all items such as hidden columns and border placement.  Most of the web sheets do not have hidden columns, so there should be no issue.

There is difference in TM1 Web when I was able to publish web sheets from Perspectives vs PAfE.

I have tested PA Workspace and found the same disappearing border issue.

I hope a solution is found.  Most my users rely on web sheets in TM1 Web to easily navigate and enter forecasting data.

    Thanks

    Sue

    Hello,

I wanted to follow up with more information regarding TM1 Web and concerns regarding any enhancements.

As mentioned earlier in this post, borders "disappear" when a web sheet is published to TM1 Web.  This same issue occurs in PAW.

I opened a support ticket, TS019374533 and was advised to make the borders bigger.  This is not a good solution since the web display might be better but when exporting to PDF or Snapshot to Excel, the border displays are too big for a report.  It was then suggested that after the report is exported the user "re-formats" the report.   Not a good solution.

It was then recommended to add an enhancement request.  This has been done and is PAOC-I-1768.

I only hope that this issue is reviewed and discussed.

Web sheets are a very useful reporting tool and need to function correctly.

    Thanks,

    Sue

    Hi Susan,

You've got me curious about when borders don't work for you.  We have many applications with 100s of web sheets.  We do sometimes get no borders in specific cells, but generally this is due to hidden columns, or text being larger than its cell.  Have you got any examples you could share?  Here is a movement report with borders showing as you'd expect.

    Cheers

    Hello,

I have been thinking more about this and wondering if the issue is related to multiple dynamic reports on the one web sheet.

In PAfE, the report looks good.

When displayed on TM1 Web OR PAW, the underlining borders are not displayed

    Hi Susan,

I've seen this problem before, and think the problem here is the top border of the preceding cells format is overwriting the bottom border.

if you try adding a row between each format row header of your report this can sometime help.

So in the header you'll have 1 then a blank row, 2, blank row, etc..

Another thing to try is removing all borders and then reapplying them back to the bottom border again.

I will agree that these settings can be a little fiddly.

    Cheers

    Hello,

I think I managed to get this issue figured out.

The solution was to insert a row just above "End Format Area" in the formatting section of the dynamic report.  After this I was able to test out adding various columns within the data section of the report to support how a row was to be formatted.

Next step is to figure out how to have all borders display correctly on Custom Reports that are published to PAW and TM1 Web.
