For those unfamiliar with curl it is a OMVS command that makes it easy to access web based resources (both web pages and files) and the best part is that it is included with IBM's Open Enterprise Foundation for z/OS which is included with your z/OS license.

I'm a newbie, I don't know what CBTView is used for?  I imagine its use... It's better to know directly from the experts :-)

"I guess" is a tool available only via OMVS, right?

    Thank you :-)

CURL is used for everything... It's like the Swiss Army knife :-)

CBTView is an ISPF dialog running under z/OS TSO ISPF that makes it easy to access, research, and download the CBTTape files.

And people think that the concept of "open source" was invented by the Unix/Linux/PC world.   Not hardly!  I still remember when the "CBT tape" (and the "Share tape") were actual magnetic tape reels that people copied, contributed to, modified, and passed around.   We were doing "open source" long before the Internet existed, sharing and improving all kinds of system utility code - almost always written in Assembler.   "CBT" - short for Connecticut Bank and Trust - the sysprogs there started the whole thing.
