    Pardon me for asking but why should you only install binaries from IBM? IBM got UNIX from other people's source code after all. Some things you have to install as binaries, the base operating system for example. Other than that I'd trust source over binary any day. If you compile it yourself you know what you have, otherwise you're never quite sure.
