    The reason you can't download it yet is because the product is not generally available and won't be available for web download until November 21, 2008.

    One is indeed the aix service (check out the pconsole service with lssrc command I seem to recall), the other is the full blown director management program (out in November).

    The single-system web-based management interface, IBM Systems Director Console for AIX (aka pconsole), is only part of AIX 6.1, not AIX 5.3. It does come on the AIX 6 product media and is not downloadable.

    The multi-system platform management software, IBM Systems Director V6.1 is what I was referring to above.
    FYI, when using IBM Systems Director V6.1, you can select a managed AIX 6 system and actually launch the IBM Systems Director Console for AIX. (don't you love the use of the same names?)

    Just another nomenclature clarification: Version 6 is no longer called just IBM Director, but IBM Systems Director.
