  • 1.  Synergy to EWM Migration

    We wanted to migrate 1000 Synergy Databases to EWM with History, along with Change Tasks.

    Do anyone know if there is an utility from IBM or anyone to perform the same.

    As far as I know, There is no official IBM-provided tool to migrate entire Synergy databases (with full history) into EWM.

    For the similar configuration management tool ClearCase, there is a related application ClearCase Synchronizer.

    There is no supporting tool from IBM and no officially known tool from other companies.
    You will need to do this by exporting and importing the data using some scripts. Both tools support this. From an SCM perspective, the tools are similar, but the technical connection between the file version and the task is different.
    Please clarify your request "with history."
    How do you define the term "history"? 
    •    All files with all file versions ever created
    •    Only file versions contained in a static baseline
    •    Only important static baselines
    Migrating all data would be a very large undertaking.
