  • 1.  Switching user to new Android Device

    We are getting ready to upgrade phones for our staff.  I am looking for information about the steps to take to move users to new Samsung devices. Some users will need documents and settings transferred others will not.  Is this all handled through Smart Switch? Thanks.

    We have seen this before and it can work one of two ways: 

    • Successful, where you exclude configuration for system apps
    • Unsuccessful, where you don't

    Basically if you export all app configurations, for apps like MaaS360, this causes a problem. 

    The MaaS360 user profile is created during the enrollment process and is unique to that enrollment on that device for that user. 

    If you try to re-use it you will have problems and this has happened before. 

    So I would suggest you look at the list of apps which are productivity vs system, only productivity apps should be exported / used through Samsung SmartSwitch.
