  • 1.  STAP Cannot capture Sybase DB traffic

    Dears,

    I have an issue with my STAP, it's running but not capturing any traffic i have added WINSTAP_SYBASE_DRIVER_INSTALLED but still no traffic captured.

    i have checked stap.ctl file and found the below error 

    AD_Sybas: Instance doesn't exist from sybase display name, service diplay name is  SAPHostControl
    AD_Sybas: config file "C:\ini\sql.ini doesn't exist
    AD_Sybas:  failed to get DBVersion from registry 

    also same messge for many services 

    AD_Sybas: config file "C:\ini\sql.ini doesn't exist

    AD_Sybas: config file "D:\ini\sql.ini doesn't exist

    and i have checked where this file is located .....its located in D:\sybase\KQ1\ini\sql.ini

    how can i solve this issue

    I don't have any Sybase running in the environment, but to troubleshoot. Assuming GDP, I would suggest following these steps

    1. Validate STAP control shows STAP is green.
    2. Check inspection engine exists 
    3. Check the port number matches in IE with actual DB server.
    4. Click on the "i"  icon next to STAP for additional messages
    5. If these are all looking good, i would suggest opening a case with the support.
