SSO with IIS not working in Cognos 11.1.6

    After Upgrade from Cognos 11.1.5 to Cognos 11.1.6 SSO is not working.

    When accessing the gateway URI with the IIS server and SSO Enabled, the login page will keep on loading forever.

    I have already done a IIS Reset described here :

    With SSO Disabled everything is working fine.

    Can anyone confirm thins behaviour in Cognos 11.1.6?

    Update:
    There is also an error in the cogserver.log

    Hi Daniel, i had the same issue when my PDF confidentiality algorithm was set to 256bit. Once i set it to 128 everything was working fine with SSO. But be aware that you will need the original files which are with installation for the jurisdiction policy. so if you change them please put the original back.

    Hi Stoyka,

    thank you for your reply. The PDF confidentiality algorithm was allready set to 128bit. This Problem occurs only on Cognos 11.1.6, after a revert to Cognos 11.1.5 everything works as it should.

    On my end is working perfectly fine (what you can try is to do the installation again) sometimes it helps ;) install it over and see

    I had exactly the same problem, ended doing an uninstall and re-install, as well as IIS setup (Deleted the website and Application Pool.)  
    I used the IIS automated script that ships with Cognos.
    After this this it worked fine...

    Not optimal, I know....

    Something else to try, is to enable (if is disabled) Cognos Application Firewall in Configuration Manager.

    I have experienced the same issues as Daniel and tried all the suggested fixes above, it's got to be a bug. It's always pot luck these days when upgrading Cognos and finding out what new bugs have been introduced.
    I'm reverting back to 11.1.5.

    Hi Daniel,

    IBM is aware of the issue and is working on it. We've seen a number of clients hit this issue and a number of others not. I won't hazard a guess at this point as to the cause of the issue but multiple IIS SSO scenarios were tested inhouse prior to release.

    I would recommend logging a support case and referencing this APAR so you can be kept up to date.

    Yes. This issue was fixed in May of 2020. Either R6 IF1 or R6 IF2 should resolve the issue.

    We have had confirmation from multiple clients that their issue was resolved after installing the IF1, which was the first version with the fix.
