Even though I installed the trial version of SPSS today for the first time, I get an error that I have used it before and I cannot activate the program.

The error message is as follows:

Error: Sorry, you have already used an IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription trial on this machine. To use IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription, you will have to purchase a copy. Please visit the IBM Marketplace to review purchasing options.

As noted, the message indicates that our system found previous activation and determined that Trial has been already used on this machine. Sometimes you may not be aware of previous Trial usage. This activation could be performed by family member, friend, previous owner of the PC, other student (when using academic device) etc.

Is there any chance that this error message is wrong? Because I haven't installed or used SPSS from this device or any other device before.

Support Memberünal​ Based on our investigation, an IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription was activated on that machine in Sept of 2020.
