    I have accessing asmi via laptops and pc with ie11 or google chrome, win8, including another pc with vista, it works fine.

    When I try to access with my laptop asus or my pc also asus, both with ie11 and chrome, after entering https//10.10.0.2 the browser shows the left window to enter the user and password, but the top and right window with server information and welcome page doesn't show.

    Then when I enter the user and password it hangs and never shows the next page, although it logs to asmi (later through another pc i can see this via login audits).

    This pc and laptop are asus with win7, ie11 or google chrome latest. We have installed from scracth win8 but the problem remains. Have tried also with opera, mozilla firefox and nothing.

     

    We tried to connect the laptop directly to the switch and it worked fine with the win7 and ie11. 

     

    The system is a power 5 so 6.1


    Anyone have experienced something like this?

    can you put your PC directly on the 10.10.0.x network ?  if that works, that will pretty much confirm a firewall or routing issue is going on.

     

    other than that, I'm out of ideas.

    the routing you mentioned is the one we have below - 10.10.0.253?

    Even so it's strange because other machines like this one runs ok without the routing gateway.

    I'm going to try it later - the machines are at home.

    It doesn't work even with the default gateway. Have no antivirus and the firewall is from win8.1

    Not sure if it's related, but I had some issues as well. As it turns out the ASMI on various older models uses 40-bit encryption. 40-bit encryption is not considered secure enough anymore, so a lot of browsers now refuse to use that.

    I'm keeping an old version of Firefox around specifically for this purpose. The latest Firefox, Chrome and IE simply don't work anymore.

    There's a discussion somewhere else, where IBM has stated that they do not intend to update the microcode for this since the machines I was talking about were considered end-of-life.

    Thank you guys,  I had figured it out already. Unfortunately I don't have any pc with an older versions of browsers. I have a vista that allows me to do that via chrome and ie and when it's needed is the one that I use. Unfortunatelly it's not at home. Other that, as the song says, "with a little help from my friends" they get to awake the iseries for me.
