Software Update automation

    Way back in December IBM hosted a z/OSMF Guild session topic on the z/OSMF Software Update application, but more specifically showed how you can automate installing software updates using the REST API for Software Update.  The z/OSMF Guild session recording and presentation are available here:

    The presentation also demonstrated new Ansible roles that drive the Software Update REST API.  At the time the new Ansible roles were not yet published.  Sorry its been so long, but finally the new content has been published and the documentation for the Software Update roles is available here:

    And you can find sample playbooks that demonstrate the new zmf_swupdate roles here:
