    I'd probably try to create a mailbox on a mail server, have your host send the message to that and then have a .forward file or something to redirect to 5551212@vtext.com or something.

    You might also want to check into a monitoring service/program like What's Up Gold.

    Apart from what is already pointed out, you could contact a mobile service provider for this service at a premium. They will create a mailbox to which you could send out emails to, which would then get delivered to the mobile as sms.

    Another option you could check with IBM is to connect a special modem which can accomodate a sim card (havent done this on AIX Server, but it was done for one of the HPUX boxes we had). This will send out sms to any mobile number.

    Another option is to use tools like Telalert (used it with HP Openview) to send out sms alerts for incidents.
