  • 1.  Setting up a counter in App Connect Pro in the Cloud

    Posted Tue March 16, 2021 11:50 AM
We are working with a client looking to update a google spreadsheet.

The issue is the row to be updated can vary depending on information coming from their ERP system.

To do the update we need to read the spreadsheet and track the row read, and as far as their API goes there is not a simple approach.

We have set up a For Each to process the spreadsheet and an IF to find the matching row.

We need to count the reads to determine the actual row to be updated, we thought about Setting  Variable, but does not appear to be working well.  Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Brian,

App Connect's programming model is write once/read many, so it's not easily possible to alter or increment a variable like that.

Without knowing the specifics of your requirements, I wonder if you can use the 'Row number' field that comes from each Google sheets row?
You should have access to that on any node within the 'For each' block:

    Hope that helps!

    Ash,

It would work great, except we have multiple spreadsheets to retrieve and you can's use a variable with the connector.

We appear to have a workaround using an API Flow, but was hoping there was a more straightforward approach.

    Thanks for the help!
