Hi have the same situation when I upgraded from 11.3 to 11.5. It's occurs when the system haven't connection with the CM. i.e. when the system is down because the DB is full. According the technical team, this was changed in 11.4 because the system must be have connection to CM to validate user, because the tomcat process must be running they put and API validate_user_password that is running in tomcat process. So if tomcat is out, the call to verify password fail.
Nothing to do. guardcli works if it is online with CM.
What I do? When the collector is out I start with cli user and run restart gui, after this I can log with guardcli user.

We upgraded our Appliances from 11.3 to 11.4 by applying GPU400 patch. Patch was successful but when we try to login through putty using set guiuser <username> it throws an error message incorrect password.
We are able to login through Guardium Console GUI using the same account without any issues.
Anyone face this similar problem. We are using LDAP Authentication.
