Interesting tech note below. This effectively means you require a VA license to use the V11.1+ ServiceNow Integration:

That's strange because three of four feeds you can send to Service Now have little to do with VA (Alerter, Risk Spotter, and Threat Analytics). Also strange because, unlike other unlicensed features, this one does not hide the configuration panels from the GUI when unlicensed.

It seems more like a bug than a conscious license requirement to me? Does the tech note just leave out that it's going to be fixed? It seems to suggest that you just go ahead and purchase a VA license.

Hi John, You should not need a VA license for ServiceNow integration if not using VA. In the tech note you mentioned,  I think it's saying the VA license is needed for using the Security Assessment Builder, part of VA, though it is confusing because of the problem title.
Did you experience an issue while integrating with ServiceNow for a non-VA use case?

    Hi Leila,

The tech note indicates that this doesn't happen when setting up the a VA related feature, but happens when you test the connection during connection setup. That is the step you need to complete before using the ServiceNow integration with any other feature - VA or otherwise. Additionally, you can't save the ServiceNow definition for later use without a successful test.

I don't have an immediate need but this but might shortly. This means that anyone without a VA license and only a DP license could not use ServiceNow integration. It's the first thing I'd have to check if someone asks for it.

Also just tested - same problem occurs on V11.2 - with a non VA use case

    Update:
Thank you for pointing out this issue. We have fixed it so that a VA license is not required to use ServiceNow. The fix will be part of the Guardium 11.1 August bundle and 11.2 September bundle.
