  • 1.  Secondary Firmware Version

    Hi,

    How can I find out what the version number is of the secondary firmware installation on an IDG without switching to it first? The CLI command "show firmware" only shows me the primary firmware details.

    Do you mean the restore image?

    I don't think you can find the FW version of that unless you have some exports or checkpoint (.cfg) files laying around.
    Another option is to use the "boot switch" to go back to the older version and you'll see what version it is and then "boot switch" back to the newer if it was not correct... NB! You WON'T be able to switch back to the old after switching to the new (as you can only switch back and forth once!)

    You can always export (NB! You'll lose passwords in password maps and certificates) or secure backup the instance and then reinit to get to your preferred FW level.

    I was hoping to be able to just find out what the version number was without having to actually switch to it. You're right, I could just switch then have a look at the resulting version, but it would be nice to know for sure beforehand. The command reference for "show firmware" says that the "command displays the following information. The type of the firmware installation type. Can be primary or secondary. The version of the firmware image...", but I only ever see "primary" in the resulting table. How can I get it to show the "secondary" value?
