    Hello All,

Need one suggestion, we are having Informix cluster environment with Primary, Secondary and RSS nodes on IDS14.10.

We have to create a new SBSPACE, as I know we need to make change in ONCONFIG file by adding SBSPACE parameter for new SBSPACE name.

    1.         So can we do it by using "onmode -wf SBSPACENAME=sbsname" command OR do we need to bounce the instance?
    2.        And do we need to modify the Confirm file only on Primary Server and will it replicate to other servers OR do we need to make changes manually on Secondary and RSS node?
    3. After altering via "onmode -wf" command, do we also need to restart all the DB instance?

    Kindly suggest.

    Thanks

    Amit

I remember sbspace has non-logging by default, thus if you want objects to be replicated across to secondaries, you should enable logging on sbspace.

The SBSPACENAME parameter can be changed dynamically with "onmode -wf SBSPACENAME=<name>" and no restart is required.  Use SBSPACENAME to specify the default sbspace - you can have multiple sbspaces.

Thanks for your reply. So will it work in cluster environment?

And do we need to run "onmode -wf SBSPACE...." command in all three nodes ? Secondary and RSS? Or only in Primary.

    Thanks

    Amit

    Dear Paul,

Yoi mean to say, "onmode -wf SBSPACENAME=<sbspacename>" will work without making any changes on other nodes apart from Primary?
